FLIGHT SCHOOL

Mid Island Air Service, Inc. is an FAA Part 61 flight school and Cessna Pilot Center (CPC). We offer primary and advanced pilot training, as well as accelerated flight training, for Sport Pilot, Private Pilot, Commercial, Instrument, CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP and multi-engine ratings. Whether you wish to fly for pleasure or are interested in commercial pilot training, our school can satisfy all of your needs.

We offer pre-paid flight packages for training and time building.

We are approved for the training of foreign flight students as well as US citizens. Please see our Alien Flight Training section for M1 Visa information and TSA requirements.

Our flight training is enhanced by the use of Cessna’s internet based training program. Study wherever you are, whenever you want.  The program contains an on-line syllabus so our students know the maneuvers which will be covered in their next flight lesson. This allows the student to review the ground lab prior to the corresponding flight lesson in order to maximize lesson comprehension. Our instructors monitor and review the student’s progress. Students who train at CPC’s generally complete their training with 15-20% fewer flight hours than the national average.

In the interest of safety as required by FAR 91.103, we request that you complete a Weight and Balance prior to every flight.  In addition, to insure that you are ‘up to’ the flight, we recommend that students and pilots to complete a Preflight Risk Assessment  prior to EVERY flight.

For safety and to provide our students with the best aviation resources, we strongly recommend that students:

  2. Subscribe to AOPA’s Flight Training Magazine (Free Six Month Trial Subscription Available)
  3. Join an aviation organization such as AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) to keep abreast of changes in the industry
