Just like many kids out there, Brett has always been fascinated with aviation. Brett was born in Clinton, IA and his love for aviation came when was ten years old when he took his first plane ride on a TWA DC-9 from Cedar Rapids, IA to St. Louis, MO. Soon after his first flight, he would make his mother drive up to the airport to have lunch or grab an ice cream cone. He spent many Saturdays watching the airliners takeoff and land at the Cedar Rapids Airport.
In the summer of 1998 Brett moved to Boston with his mother and sister.
After high school he attended college on Long Island at Stony Brook University where he played baseball for one year. After getting hurt, he moved back to Boston in 2004 where he earned his private certificate at Hanscom Airport. Brett moved back to Long Island to attend Dowling College where he earned his BA in Finance and Accounting.
Brett has been flying at Midisland since 2006 where he has earned his instrument, commercial, multi-commercial, CFI and CFII.
When Brett is not flying he is working in Manhattan as an aviation insurance underwriter.
