My name is Daniel Turkashwand but since Kindergarten I’ve been called “Turk”. Ever since I boarded my first flight (KLM) in Dec of 1986 I have been fascinated with aviation.

Anytime I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I would confidently reply, “A Pilot”. So In 1999 through Nassau BOCES I took my first intro flight.

Soon after I enrolled in and graduated from SUNY Farmingdale with my B.S. in Aeronautical Science. I received my Instrument, commercial, and CFI right here at Mid Island and loved every minute of it.
