David Jensen

David Jensen ATP, CFI, CFII

CFI, CFII, ATP

David began flying about 20 years ago when he was working as a dispatcher at MIAS - ISP.  He started his own janitorial services company about the same time and was looking for some extra cash.  In 2008, he became a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and then a CFII.  As of November 2010, he has assumed the position of General Manager and Assistant Chief Pilot of the Brookhaven Airport (KHWV) branch of Mid Island Air Service.  Still a very active instructor, he is enjoying the business aspect of aviation very much as well.

His brother Bill was (is) his flight instructor and along with the help of his other hero Vincent Nasta, and the Mancuso family (and MANY others), he has attained his Airline Transport Certificate and CFII.  He owns his own plane and uses it for business and pleasure trips, up and down the coast.

David received his BS in Business Administration from SUNY Fredonia and his MBA in Finance and Business from Pace University.  This training will come in handy in his role as General Manager.

He has over 2,500 hours of flight time and still flies as much as possible.  He says all the time, “it’s always cheaper to fly, you just need to “massage” the numbers!”.

He also enjoys motorcycling and SCUBA.  He lives with his wonderful wife, Elaine and two beautiful children, Danielle and William.   

David is fluent, if a little rusty, in Spanish.
