Richard took his first flight lesson with Mid Island at eleven years old and since then has had a passion for aviation. Richard took a break from aviation for a few years and had picked it back up with full force in 2007. He spent two years as a Biology/pre-med major at SUNY Albany, but didn’t have a true passion for it. He recalled wise words from Thoreau, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” He then decided to move back to Long Island to pursue his flying career and resumed training with Mid Island.
By July 2008 he had completed all of his training with Mid Island, and went from student pilot to CFI in less than a year. In his spare time Richard enjoys playing piano, weight lifting, DJ’ing, off-roading and traveling the world.
A few years ago Richard started a small technology company (Technix Inc.), which currently provides numerous technical services to Long Island businesses. Although, Richard’s true passion is aviation and he hopes to have a lifelong career in this exciting field.
