| GPS Training On Saturday July 10, 2004 we conducted our 8th free monthly seminar at ISP, this one on GPS Training. We had a great turnout with over two dozen pilots and Nathan Hillard, CFI, CFII did a great job taking us all through the GPS basics - see outline below. However, we all know one hour is not enough to cover a piece of equipment as sophisticated as a GPS. With that in mind and feedback from some of the attendees, we have invested in a Commander GPS Control Station, here at ISP, where you will be able to fully learn and explore the KLN94 and 89B receiver capabilities at your leisure - the units in all our Cessna 172R models. Without the pressure of trying to fly the airplane, you will work with our CFI and enter ground speeds, store and “fly” flight plans, practice approaches and fully learn the units. This station will become available as part of our new rain-day policy, where instead of canceling your flight lesson due to inclement weather you will be able to make use of your time slot and improve your COMFORT ZONE with this avionics at just the instructor cost- no additional expense. Please check with the Desk and plan to schedule this or other training opportunities on your next bad weather day. GPS Training - Most Common Units ..
