2 DAY IPC PILOT-IN-COMMAND

Saturday & Sunday – 0800-1700

1st Weekend of each Month (or on demand) Must CALL to Register

$375* for Command Pilot Program (IFR and VFR pilots welcome)

For Full IPC endorsement, if not IFR current, you will need a “circle to land” flight.  Includes up to .6 hr CFI time**.   To extend to include BFR sign off, additional flight time will be required.  (Up to two hours hobbs at 50% off dry rate).

For BFR sign off only:  Course Includes up to .6 hr CFI time**.   Aircraft as required.  (Up to two hours hobbs at 50% off dry rate).

*4 people for full class – prices adjusted for 3 or 2 participants ($400 and $450 respectively)
**Additional CFI time will be billed at a rate of $125/hr

Mid Island is offering a Command Pilot Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) and/or BFR.   The course will provide eight hours of ground instruction and eight hours of Redbird Advanced Aviation Training Device group sessions. 

The content of the course will address:

  • pilot deviations
  • accident causal factors and their mitigations
  • flight planning & facets of IFR procedures
  • aircraft control techniques and reference to both Electronic Primary Flight Display and Navigation display, as well as the traditional flight instruments
  • knowledge of GPS and GPS Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS)
  • risks of SVFR operations, weather, icing
  • FAA regulations, approaches and much more

The texts for the course will be:  FAA Instrument Flying Handbook, Advanced Avionics Handbook, Pilot Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, Risk Management Handbook, Instrument Procedures Handbook, and The Aeronautical Information Manual.
