MISSION STATEMENT

We will train Pilots using innovative methods to assure safety and affordability. We will rent fast affordable aircraft.

SAFETY

All of our pilots will use a Personal Limitations Checklist as a guide to assure their safety. This will be updated each year with their CFI. All of our planes will be equipped with a Garmin GPS. All of our pilots will have Microsoft simulator in their home on their computer or laptop and a Microsoft Precision 2 Joystick.
There will be no flying between midnight and 5 AM.

AFFORDABILITY

We will use creative methods in our training to keep the cost down.

MARKETING

We will advertise in the Newsday Aviation section on a monthly basis.
($1543 per month)
We will promote Demo Days the third Sunday at HWV.
We will have a Demo Day Race Day the third Sunday in September.

AFFORDABILITY

AIRCRAFT

We will choose the least expensive, safest, most dependable aircraft and engine combination that is also easy to maintain. Our current choices are the sportaircraftworks.com SportCruisers, the Evektor SportStar and the Flight Design CT.

TECHNOLOGY

All of our aircraft will be equipped with Garmin GPS. Most will also have XM satellite weather.
All of our pilots will have Microsoft Flight Simulator on their home computer or laptop and a Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick.

SCHEDULING

We will schedule through Yahoo calendar.
 ie. SPORTCRUISERHWV.  Pass word: SFUSAHWV
All flights will be one day only or one half day. No overnights.
AM means 5 AM until noon. PM means noon until midnight.
All day is 5 am until midnight. All pilots will have their own key.
After flying you log on and record your flying time and ending hobbs.

CREATIVE METHODS

All lessons will be flown on the simulator first, then repeated in the aircraft, and then flown again on the simulator.
We will combine night and hood work while learning navigation. (It is easier to learn to fly the A/H at night because the air is smoother).This will keep cost down and build confidence. All students will know how to get home even at night and in clouds. We will demonstrate unusual wind conditions on the simulator that are difficult or impossible in an aircraft such as landing downwind, in 90 degree crosswinds, and in 40 knot winds.

COSTS

• There will be an Initiation Fee of $300.
• There will be a booking fee of $80 per day 5 am until midnight.
  There will be a booking fee of $40 per ½ day 5 am until noon.
  There will be a booking fee of $40 per ½ day noon until midnight.
  The booking fee is charged when you schedule the aircraft. It is refundable if there is a maintenance problem with the aircraft. If there is a maintenance problem please call Lou at 516-658-1847 and also make a note on the aircraft clipboard.
• There will be an hourly fee of $25.
• Fuel will be paid for by the Pilot. Tanks will be left down two inches per side.
  Fuel will be available at MIAS HWV for a $.50 discount.
• Dual will be $35 per hour from a LSA CFI
  Dual will be $50 per hour from one of our high time CFI’s.
