GROUND SCHOOLS
Many of our students are enrolled in our computer based Cessna or Jeppesen training programs. These ‘work at your own pace’ programs allow you to prepare for your flight lessons when the time is favorable for you. For those of you who would like a more structured classroom training program, we now offer a 24 hour ground school program for the Private and an 18 hour program for the Instrument Rating. These classes will be offered twice a week on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Classes are given by one of our FAA certified flight instructors at our ISP location.
WEEKDAY CLASSES FOR PRIVATE PILOT
FOUR WEEK COURSE; 24 hours of Ground School Start: Wed, Oct 19, 2011 End: Fri, Nov 11, 2011
WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM $350.00* *$400 for non-MIAS enrolled students
These ground courses are based on the Jeppesen Private Pilot Textbook. However, the instructor will cross reference the reading materials so the Cessna Private Pilot Manual may also be used. A copy of the Jeppesen or Cessna manual will be required before starting course. Students will obtain a full 24 hours of ground from our Certified Flight and Ground Instructor using sophisticated power-point presentations. Students will learn a variety of subjects beginning with the basics such as Four Fundamentals of Flight, Weather Services, Weather Theory and continuing through the Cross Country Flight phase. Stage quizzes and a final exam will be given during the course. A sign off for the FAA knowledge exam will be given by your instructor upon attaining a grade of 90% or more on two exams.
The Jeppesen and Cessna Manuals may be rented through our dispatch desks. A limited supply of used books are available.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Jim, Don or at (631) 588-5400.
