Aircraft Rentals

Mid Island Air Service, Inc. has a large fleet of aircraft to suit a broad array of training and rental needs.  We offer a variety of aircraft to suit any pilot’s needs. Our LSA (Light Sport Aircraft) are available for training and rental for those interested in the Sport Pilot Certificate which requires no FAA medical.

Insurance? We’ve got you covered!

We are one of the few Fixed Based Operators on Long Island that offer the ability to rent aircraft to the public and without having to purchase a separate renter policy.  We have built this into our pricing.

Included in the insurance charge is liability protection for our students and renters for $1 million ($100,000 per seat)  and zero deductible on the hull. As a pilot, you may wish to check if are there any restrictions on your life insurance policy.

If you damage our aircraft there is a $10,000 deductible that you could be liable for if found negligent.  This is our aircraft insurance policy and is different then the liability policy mentioned above.

Frequent Flyer Program

Launched in 2020, the Frequent Flyer Program gives you special discounts off the aircraft.  Discounts on your BFR or AFR each year, and Member only deals announced sporadically throughout the year. To reduce your rental rates, consider joining our Frequent Flyer Program, ask our Customer Service Representatives how.

Safety and Risk Management

In the interest of safety, which is our main concern, we have instituted an Annual Flight Review.  Each year, all pilots must fly with one of our CFI’s to be able to fly our airplanes and renew their Personal Limitations Checklist.

Home of the Personal Limitation Checklist, written by one of our owners, Louis Mancuso Jr. to keep our pilots safe.  As part of the initial checkout, your CFI will help you make the proper limitation choices for your flight experience level.

We also require that you complete a Weight and Balance prior to every flight that you have.  In addition, to insure that you are ‘up to’ the flight, we require that you complete a Preflight Risk Assessment prior to EVERY flight.
